I moved to Chilmark, Martha's Vineyard in the summer of 2004 after retiring from a twenty two year career in finance in New York which began at EF Hutton and ended at Lazard. My "second" career began at Flanders Up-Island Real Estate working with the Flanders family. Licensed as an agent in 2005 and as a broker in 2006, I was responsible for managing the family office, marketing, and matching tenants and landlords at vacation properties.

I started Russell Maloney Real Estate, LLC in 2008 just as the real estate market on the Vineyard began to slow. It seemed to be the perfect time to draw on my skills and talents from my old and new career and form a firm of my own. My first listing was a historic house and barn in West Tisbury; through a unique marketing plan and dedicated service, an offer was accepted within two weeks.

Beyond real estate, I am deeply rooted in the community. I serve as Vice Chairman of the Chilmark Conservation Commission and Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals. I am also a board director for the Island Autism Group.
